1-Title: Senior Project Officer / Cairo Office
Reporting to: Project Field Manager or Delegate
Background:
The Senior Project Officer leads the planning, research, analysis, implementation and monitoring activities of the Project Office in Cairo. This will involve direct contact and follow up with partners and stakeholders; preparation of various project reports, support and coaching of BDSF/P, facilitation and follow up of communications, networks with project partners and stakeholders in assigned areas. The Senior Project Officer maintains designated project records and assists in the arrangements and preparations for various meetings, networks and project capacity building and cross cutting workshops as well as Project’s documentation process.
Specific Accountabilities:
Under the supervision of the Project Field Manager or delegate, the Senior Project officer is responsible for:
• Providing direct technical, training support and guidance to partners; BDS Facilitators and Providers in the implementation and follow up of activities
• Developing and coaching support networks to prepare recommendations to advocate regulatory changes that affect SMEs.
• Conducting regular consultations and maintain communication linkages with key GOE, donors and BDS partners and provide recommendations on strategic service delivery interventions.
• Assist the Project Implementation Office team in ongoing program planning, implementation; follow up, monitoring and evaluation activities.
• Maintain regular liaison, support and follow up contact with project partners and stakeholders on assigned work plan activities
• Evaluates and monitors the implementation of assigned partners’ implementation plans.
• Facilitates coordination and networking opportunities with BDSF/Ps, Regional Offices, other projects, donors, etc.
• Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of project and partner capacity development strategies and action plans
• Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of progress of project initiatives;
• Compile, synthesize, edit, provide data analysis, and produce the project’s external reporting including reporting to CID.
• Perform other duties as directed
Senior Project officer - Qualifications:
• University education in a related field is preferred with relevant work experience with SMEs, donor projects ,M&E or Result Based Management
(A minimum of 5 years is required)
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and fluently in both written and spoken Arabic and English languages
• Strong IT skills, particularly professional use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, including a basic understanding of Excel formulae and functions.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize and apply the appropriate software and computer skills to effectively prepare reports, AWPs and other project documents English.
• Able to collect, analyze, synthesize and record information from written material or from group sessions or individual interviews.
• Demonstrated group and process facilitation skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) in both English and Arabic.
• Strong interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy recognizing cross cultural differences
• Willingness to travel around Egypt to perform position duties

The Project Officer maintains designated project records and assists in the arrangements and preparations for various meetings, networks and project capacity building and cross cutting workshops as well as Project’s documentation process.

• Strong interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy recognizing cross cultural differences
• Able to communicate at all levels with BDSF/Ps, SMEs and other project partners
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with Team Members.
